Subaru GB270 Background
The GB270 was produced in 2007 as the end of the line limited edition for the existing and long term Subaru Impreza WRX. It signalled the end of a long line of saloon and wagon cars in the Impreza range. It was to be replaced by the hatchback version from 2008 onwards.
At the time, a little bit extra money bought you a bit of a bargain as the engine was given a load of Prodrive goodies - a Prodrive tune up, which took it from 226bhp to 266bhp. along with lowered Prodrive suspension (30mm at the front and 10mm at the back) and a quickshift gearchange.
The Prodrive exhaust, which some find too quiet is bigger and gives a louder but subtle burble to the standard exhaust.
The front end of the GB270 was treated to a wire mesh grill - chrome for the saloons and black for the wagons and 18 inch Prodrive alloy wheels were available, again in silver for the saloons and black for the wagons.
Optional extras were the Alacantra leather interior, tinted rear windows and a Sat Nav ICE unit.
